Matthias Rodemeier attends ASSA 2018 and visits Prof John List at University of Chicago

Matthias Rodemeier

Matthias Rodemeier has an exciting start to the new year. His research on behavioural economics leads him to interesting places in the US.

On January 5-7, 2018 he presented his research at ASSA 2018 (Allied Social Science Association), the leading economics conference worldwide. Each January the association’s researchers hold a three-day meeting to present their papers on general economics topics. This year, the annual meeting was held in Philadelphia. Matthias presented a joint paper with Andreas Löschel and Roland Kube (Casting Light on Energy Efficiency – Evidence on Consumer Inattention and Imperfect Information, https://doi.org/10.1080/13504851.2017.1332742) and discussed his insights with his peers.

He now moved on to visit the Department of Economics at the University of Chicago, where he will stay for the next 3 months. His host is Prof John List who pioneered the use of field experiments in economics. According to IDEAS/RePEc, as of December 2017, John List is among the 20 top-ranked economists worldwide. Under his guidance, Matthias will work on several projects that intent to test economic theory using field experiments. In particular, he tries to identify policy interventions that promote the adoption of energy-efficient technologies.
