Long distance buses

You can reach Münster by several long distance buses from different cities.

Flights

There is a multitude of direct domestic and European connections to the international airport Münster-Osnabrück (FMO). Flights from Berlin, Frankfurt a. M. or Munich to the FMO will take you about an hour. From here, you can reach the city centre of Münster by bus (S50 or R51) or taxi in approx. 30 minutes. Up-to-date information at:

Train

Münster’s main station is situated right in the city centre. Münster is linked with Germany’s and Europe’s metropolises via its IC, EC, and ICE connections. The train ride from Hamburg or Cologne to Münster takes two hours, from Berlin it is approx. 3.5 hours, while Enschede (NL) is a solid hour away. Up-to-date railroad connections are available at www.bahn.de.

Car

You can reach Münster directly via the A1 and A43 speedways. The trip from Frankfurt a. M., Hamburg or Amsterdam will take you approx. 3 hours, the trip from Berlin to Münster takes approx. 5 hours.

Mobile in Münster …
Münster is a city of short distances. The tourist sites in the old town can be reached comfortably by foot. Lowered curbstones and blind-friendly auxiliary devices make it easy for wheelchair users, blind and visually handicapped persons to explore the city. You can also move about safely and comfortably by bicycle in Münster. A public transport network is at your disposal. How to get to the venues of the conference:

Public Transport

The „Stadtwerke Münster“ are in charge of the public transport of the city.
Timetables are available at the homepage www.stadtwerke-muenster.de

To get to “Juridicum”, the Catholic Faculty and the “H-Building” you may take the Bus 1,11,12,13 or 22 from the main station to the station “Krummer Timpen”.

Or:

To get to the castle (“Schloss”) you may take the Bus 11,12, 13 or 22  from the main station to the station “Amtsgericht” or the Bus 1 to the station “Schlossplatz”.

By car

  • Take the motorway slip-road Münster-Nord:

Than follow the road B54 named “Steinfurter Straße” and reach “Schlossplatz”. There you will find parking area.

  • Take the motorway slip-road Münster-Süd:

Than follow the A43 and get to the B219 named “Weseler Straße”. Follow the road until you reach “Schlossplatz”. There you will find parking area.
