Welcome at the Center of Applied Economic Research Münster (CAWM)!
The Centre of Applied Economic Research Münster (CAWM) was founded in the year 2002. Under its roof, six renowned economic research institutes (see "Organisation" above) combine their activities.The research done in CAWM covers a large spectrum of questions in Economics and Business Administration, with special consideration of traffic and regional economics, housing economics, cooperative management, employment economics as well as the history of economic thought. Due to the center’s large scope of third-party funds research, CAWM provides empirical analyses for ministries, enterprises, foundations and associations on a day-to-day basis.
CAWM employs – dependent on the current order situation – around 55 scientific and 10 non-scientific assistants. Currently, Prof. Dr. Ulrich van Suntum is appointed as managing director. Additional directors of CAWM are Prof. Dr. Thomas Apolte, Prof. Dr. Karl-Hans Hartwig, Prof. Dr. Christian Müller, Prof. Dr. Aloys Prinz, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ströbele and Prof. Dr. Theresia Theurl.
