Welcome at the Center of Applied Economic Research Münster (CAWM)!
The Centre of Applied Economic Research Münster (CAWM) was founded in the year 2002. Under its roof, six renowned economic research institutes (LINK: see "Organisation" above) combine their activities.The research done at the CAWM covers a large spectrum of questions in Economics and Business Administration, with special consideration of topics in Transport Economics, Regional Economics, Public Finance, Spatial and Housing Economics, Cooperative Management, Energy Economics, History of Economics as well as the labor market.
Due to the center’s extensive third-party funds research, the CAWM provides empirical analyses for ministries, enterprises, foundations and associations on a day-to-day basis.
The CAWM employs around 55 scientific and 10 non-scientific assistants, depending on the current order situation. Currently, Prof. Dr. Ulrich van Suntum is appointed as managing director. Additional directors of the CAWM are Prof. Dr. Thomas Apolte, Prof. Dr. Karl-Hans Hartwig, Prof. Dr. Christian Müller, Prof. Dr. Aloys Prinz, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ströbele and Prof. Dr. Theresia Theurl.
